Metal Mania
My passion for discarded metal defies explanation. Rusty, mangled, flattened fragments catch my eye and I can’t resist picking them up for my 20+ year collection. This ongoing body of work is created entirely without welding. I use wire, pop rivets, gravity and glue to assemble found pieces into sculptural forms. Some are suspended, others stand or hang on the wall. The individual metal pieces dictate the direction as I respect their inherent qualities. There are often delightful surprises, and sometimes crashing frustrations, but joy is the bottom line.
